Watery Eyes In The Morning

Oxycontin is the brand name of one of the most powerful pain killers available today. Usually prescribed for cancer patients and people with chronic pain problems, Oxycontin is a synthetic opiate (opioid), whose main active ingredient is oxycodone. Like morphine, Oxycontin has mood altering effects. Specifically, it can reduce anxiety, encourage mental relaxation, and even induce a state of euphoria.

Oxycontin is currently a favorite of medical practitioners, being the most frequently prescribed opioid pain killer in North America. A controlled substance that requires a prescription in order to obtain it, the beneficial side effects of Oxycontin have made it a popular choice of recreational drug users as well. Since the drug was introduced in 1995, Oxycontin addiction has become a serious problem, so much so that its unlawful possession is subject to criminal prosecution.

Addiction to the drug tends to develop rather quickly. Most recreational users of the drug become addicts wittingly, with full knowledge of the effects of Oxycontin. However, there are many individuals who were prescribed the drug for legitimate pain reasons and who over a period of time formed a dependency to the drug. A person who takes Oxycontin repeatedly develops a tolerance to the drug's effects. To achieve the original effects, higher doses are required. If the patient stops taking the drug, withdrawal occurs and this creates the typical symptoms of prescription drug abuse.

Some effects of Oxycontin abuse are:

- Small, pinpoint pupils

- Clammy, cold skin

- Tiredness or weakness

- Dizziness

- Nausea and vomiting

- Nodding in and out of consciousness

- Detachment, bewilderment, confusion

- Slow and shallow breathing

- Slow heart rate

- Seizures

Respiratory depression is a serious short-term effect of Oxycontin. As breathing becomes slower and shallower, less oxygen is available to the person's vital organs. The risk of respiratory arrest leading to death is increased in addicts who short-circuit the time release properties of the pill in order to get a more intense high. To achieve this, they crush the pill, mix the crushed powder with water, and inject it intravenously.

Equal or surpassing the physical effects of Oxycontin are the emotional and personal toll on the addict. Oxycontin abuse often leads to deteriorating interpersonal relationships, loss of productivity, financial difficulties, and sometimes legal problems.

The withdrawal symptoms of Oxycontin may include restlessness, anxiety, irritability, insomnia, weakness, teary eyes, runny nose, excessive yawning, hot or cold sweat, nausea, vomiting, stomach cramping, diarrhea, muscle spasms, and muscle and bone pain, heart palpitations, increased blood pressure, and increased respiratory rate.

Withdrawing from Oxycontin overuse or abuse is difficult to do alone. The pain that accompanies the process often leads one to giving up. Oxycontin treatment centers are the best places to seek detoxification from Oxycontin dependency.

Oxycontin detox centers assist the individual to gradually withdraw from their physical dependence on the drug while easing the painful withdrawal symptoms. Once detoxification has been accomplished, in house treatment in an Oxycontin rehab follows during which time the individual undergoes therapy and is taught strategies to diminish and control cravings for the drug.

When looking for an Oxycontin rehab center, it is advisable to look for one with a comprehensive Oxycontin addiction treatment programs not only starts the detoxification process but also puts the addict back on the road to recovery and a productive lifestyle. watery eyes in the morning

  1. Dry scratchy watery eye with crust in the morning?
Does anyone have a problem with a constant watery eye that gets scratchy and then when you wake up you have to pry your eye open? Is it allergies? Why one eye? This has been constant for at least a month. It seems to get better when it rains. It also re-occurs throughout the year but mostly in the summer.
My watery scratchy eyes happens in only one eye and I have been using allergy eye drops that don’t work. Could it be something else?

    • Sounds more like an infection than an allergy. Allergies make the eye water but not normally sticky, plus anti-histamine drops should have cleared it up for you. Try an antibiotic drop for 1 week (follow the instructions on the label), if no improvement see an optician and let them check for you.

  2. Help on how to relieve a very sore throat and other mouth related things?
I have had what I think was just hay fever since Christmas so I had the sniffles and sneezing 20 times a day with the watery eyes, but then I started getting a cough and a bit of a sore throat so I went and bought some anti bacterial lozenges and the sore throat went away but then a gland on the right hand side of my throat just at my jaw line started to swell up and it’s been very painful to move my neck around. This is when my throat became ridiculously sore again and it hurts so much to swallow anything, especially when my throat becomes dry and i swallow saliva.

Soon after this the gum surrounding my back molar has become extremely sore and inflamed and it hurts 24/7 and makes it hard to open my mouth without a lot of pain, this morning I found that I also have an ulcer on my cheek next to this gum. Also to make matters worse my head has been hurting like crazy.

I have been putting Bonjela on my gum but it does very little. I also have been using a mouth wash that is supposed to relieve minor gum irritations.

Im not sure what evil I have unleashed onto the world to be punished like this but it’s irritating me immensely and keeps me up at night and is just making me all around cranky.

Does anyone have any tips on what I can use or some home remedies to help ease the pain? Please?

    • Get The Canker Spanker! It’s the only thing that has worked for me. It’s a pill, so it doesn’t irritate the sore, just heals it fast and prevents new breakouts. Look’em up online or call your pharmacy to see if they carry it.

  3. How to offset red eyes with eyeliner? And what about blue eyeliner?
I get these red, watery eyes sometimes in the mornings, and they’re kind of bloodshot. I remember there’s a particular color which offsets them and kind of neutralises them so they don’t appear so red. Also, what does blue eyeliner do?

  4. How long will my cold last if it started on Sunday?
I have a cold that developed Sunday (yesterday morning) and I was wondering if I will be better by Friday (5 days later). I’m performing at a dance and I need to be better by then. I have the common symptoms like runny nose and cough and watery eyes. I need to also know if I should go to the dance if I’m almost better and stuff like that. Thanks:)

    • If you are already infected with a cold virus, you can’t prevent the cold from happening – what you can do is shorten the duration of the symptoms.

Make sure you drink as many fluids as possible. Also drink warm liquids, such as tea with honey or chicken noodle soup. All of these liquids will keep you hydrated and help with your symptoms.

Make sure you are taking a multivitamin, and take extra vitamin C if you start to feel more sick. Also make sure that you are eating right. Eat foods that have protein because this will give you more energy.

One of the most important things to do is get some rest – your body will need as much energy as possible to be able to fight the cold.

      Feel better soon!

  5. Why does my husband wake up every morning sick?
Every morning he wakes up with a runny nose, sneezing and watery eyes. Every morning it happens and about an hour after he’s up he’s back to normal. I have washed all the sheets and bed spread and I have vacuumed the bed really good. What else can I do? When he stayed in a hotel room last weekend on a trip he woke up fine so it’s only at our home. I keep my home clean and I vacuum everyday, sweep, mop etc… any suggestions?

    • U can try changing to laudry soap and laudry sofeners that u use.

He may have an allergy to the inside of the pillow that he uses. Let him try something else for a pillow to do a test. Like roll up and cover or something, put it in a pillow case and have him try sleeping the night and see what happens.

Good luck. I know these kind of things are so annoying.

  6. How do I keep stray cats out of yard and off cushions?
My parents neighbors have many cats and my mom found out from her neighbor that her son feels bad for strays and leaves food out for them every night. Her son is 30 years old and whenever his mother says something to him about doing that, it turns into a big fight. My problem is my father and my son are highly allergic to cats and the cats lay all over their outdoor furniture cushions. As soon as my son sits on any furniture he starts with the itchy watery eyes. We do give him allergy medicine the whole time we are there but he once wound up in ICU for a week from being around a cat and I fear that will happen again. We were over her house yesterday and this morning my son couldn’t open his eyes due to allergies. She has 2 dogs but they don’t stay outside without her, these cats lay on the furniture all night and when she’s not home. We have to do something that is not harmful to her dogs or to children. Any suggestions?

    • Cats are notoriously impossible to keep out of anything, let alone something as open as a backyard. A large chain link fence might work, but they’re expensive & may not be possible if your parents are renting or have to deal w/a home owner’s association. So you’ve got 2 options-get rid of the cats or get rid of the fabric cushions which trap the cat hair.

-Call animal control. I love animals, but haiving a huge population of stray cats hanging out in your backyard is a BAD idea. This is how diseases spread. Plus I’m guessing these cats aren’t neutered/spayed, so it won’t be long for their population begins to increase even more. Animal control can catch some of the animals & give them the care/vaccinations they need & possibly find homes for some of them. Some of them may already have homes, but may be reported missing due to the fact that they now reside in your parent’s neighbor’s backyard (cat’s will generally go where the food & company is best & it sounds like there’s a feline mardi-gra feast going on there). I’m sure her son think’s he’s helping the cats, but in the long run, he’s not.

      - Get rid of the cushions & get plastic outdoor furniture
-Some stores sell covers for outdoor fabric cushions or the entire piece of furntiture-invest in that (try Lowes or wherever you would find furniture similar to what you own).

Basically, you have to cover up the fabric or vaccum it every day. Plastic is much easier to wash off & the cats probably won’t be as attracted to it.

      Good luck!

  7. Is there anyway to find out the source of my respiratory allergies?
I got this kitten yesterday and woke up this morning with a sore throat, itchy watery eyes, and sneezing. Now, I have owned cats previously and never had a problem before. The weather is changing right now too. Is there any way to find the source of my allergy without going to the doctor? I want to keep the cat but if Im allergic, I cannot keep him.

  8. My 3 month old son has RSV. Any tips on ways to make him more comfortable at home?
I have done everything in my power to make my son feel better. He has been ill with RSV for 5 almost 6 days now and he isn’t getting better. He developed a fever of 101.2 this morning and it hasn’t gone down. I have a cool-mist humidifier, tylenol, bulb suction, saline drops, and we have spent many hours in steam to open his airways. We have been to the ER twice and they cannot do anything for him.. he breastfeeds only and he is not dehydrated. He will not eat very often and what he does eat he ends up throwing up. He has a lot of mucous build up, itchy watery eyes, and runny nose. Anything will be much appreciated. I just want him to feel better.

    • My daughter ended up in intensive care and resuscitated at 9 weeks due to RSV. She had to have feeding and oxygen tubes, drips, wires etc It was my worst nightmare

As long as baby is keeping hydrated and eating that’s good. If baby stops eating go to hospital immediately

All you can do is just keep doing what you’re doing. I was told 4-5 days were the worst before it gets better but in fact my daughter was 9 days into it before she started to get better and it was several weeks before she fully recovered

Now at a year old everything goes to her chest. We’re just getting over a minor chest infection that’s lasted two weeks and we’ve needed an inhaler and antibiotics to fight off any bacterial infections too.

Just keep an eye on him and if his breathing worsens call an ambulance, do not take any chances

  9. I wake up with red narrow watery eyes every morning! What is wrong with me?
It’s really embarrassing when I go to people’s places because I wake up with ugly narrow red eyes and then after a couple of hours later they go away! I have round eyes, but in the morning they look completely different to how they do through the day and at night!! Please help me? What can I do to fix it?

    • This going to sound weird, but to reduce puffiness and swelling around the eyes, a little preparation h under the eye can work. I grew up with 6 sisters, so I learned a few tricks that have actually worked ok. Yeah, it’s sad that I actually know this.

  10. How do I keep stray cats out of yard and off cushions?

My parents yard is fenced in, they have a resort-like backyard with a built in pool and about 30 different kinds of seating so bringing cushions in each night is really a hassle, if it’s a choice between being inconvenieced each night or the health of the family, of course I would opt to bring the cushions in, but why should we be inconvenienced this way when they own the home and choose not to have cats for pets. About animal control, I don’t know exactly what they will do for us, but what good is it when the guy next door just keeps leaving food out for them. Another bunch of cats will be hanging around soon anyway. They will be back again. What does animal control do about this guy next door. They aren’t neutered and there has been several kitten litters under my mothers shed. Some look like they are sick and something is wrong with their eyes. I am just disgusted with this whole thing. Besides these cats, everything else about the house and the neighborhood my parents love.
The two dogs are my mom’s. Sorry, I didn’t make that clear in my question.

    • http://www.jefferspets makes scat mats. you can place them where ever you don’t want the cats to go. This will train the cats not to go back there again. I don’t think your going to have much luck talkinn to these people. to many of them could care less. other than that you can call animal control.

  11. Why do i always get a cold when i wake up?
For months now everytime i wake up in the morning i get a cold (snotty/runny nose, headache, bit of a sorethroat, watery eyes) for atleast an hour, but then it just disapears, even when the heating is on i get it, but usually it’s a bit worser.
    Does anyone else get this?
    Why does it happen?
    Thanks.

    • Sounds like in my opinion it could be allergies. I do this same thing also. Swelled eyes, watery, stuffy nose and all that fun jazz right when i wake up. I take claritan every day and it really seems to help. Ask you doctor first in case you take other meds. so they wont counter react with each other. But try some allergy medication and see if that helps. The pollen and stuff is bad this year and its gonna be a long summer. :) Good luck!

  12. Can watery eyes be a symptom of pregnancy?
For the past few days, my eyes have been really teary. I don’t have any allergies and I have no other symptoms really besides watery eyes. I did a Google search on it, and according to a few sources it is in fact a symptom of pregnancy. Has anybody else experienced this or do you think I could be jumping to conclusions? I know a test is the only way to tell but can little things like this also be an indicator?

    • well, you never know. but if there are no other accompanying symptoms, probably not. you’re going to hear this from everyone else, so i might as well join in because you’ll just be wondering about it every minute- take a test. actually, take three tests- three come in a package of first response tests, which are really really good. wait til you’re past the due date of your period. take one in the morning with your first pee. save the test, don’t throw it away. take another one five days after that, at the same time. and then another five days after that. remember that a line is a line, no matter how faint, so hold it under bright light!

  13. how to reduce watery eyes Need a good eyeliner PLZ help?
I bought like 7 diff eyeliners including waterproof :( My eyes are sensitive especially in the mornings when i head to school! the eyeliners i bought smudge especially on the corner of my eyes or fade away. any ways to reduce watery eyes?

    • Use itchy, watery eye drops, and for the eyeliner I would use a shadow primer. I reccomend urban decay primer potion. Sorry for the inconvenience :( anyways hope I helped and good luck! :)

    • A good way to offset red eyes in the morning is to line the inside of your bottom eyelid with white eyeliner. That brings out the white of your eye. Avoid any sort of green eyeshadow, because that will only make them look redder. Wear natural colors.

Blue eyeliner has a different effect depending on the color of your eyes, but it’s best to use only a little if you ever do. Too much can look very tacky.
